Great read
A nice old fashioned sentimental novel
I enjoy these kind of tales. I am still reading it and am warming up to it. It is a slow beginning and the style took some getting used to.
A very well-written and interesting story of the Dutch freedom fight in the middle ages. I recommend it to anybody with an advanced knowledge of German.
Good read, but a little long. Historical adventure, thoroughly researched. But a few too many coincidences to make the plot work. A clear plot, for those of us who wore out before finshing Joyce.
This book and its plot and characters were very different from what is often the case in other historic novels. I enjoyed reading it and believe I have learned from it and not just about history but about human depth and potential.
Wer hostorische Romane liebt, der wird an diesem Buch seine Freude haben. Für andere Leser kann es ein wenig langweilig werden. Aber bei dieser Art von Romanen ist dies nun mal so. Alles passt nicht für alle.
